FinExpertiza at the round table discussion Problems and Prospects of Development of the Labor Market in Modern Conditions

On 26 April, the round table discussion was held in Moscow. The participants discussed the issues of employment among young people of Moscow. The event was attended by the city authorities, managers of the largest banks, retailers, representatives of companies engaged in software development, etc. FinExpertiza was represented by Slinkina Olga, head of HR department.
Yulia Kholomtseva, director of promoting the employment under Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Moscow, presented the statistics data. According to the data, since the beginning of the year, more than 13,000 people aged under 30 applied to the Moscow employment centers. Among them, the people of 42% graduated from vocational schools or institutions of higher education. On average, the job search lasted from 1 to 4 months. Meanwhile, 300 young Muscovites, graduates of prestigious universities, did not find job positions.
The experts expressed different opinions on the reasons for the current trend. Olga Slinkina noted that the problems with employment among young people originated from the school time. She found it necessary to revive the institute of early professional orientation neglected after the introduction of Unified State Examination (EGE).
The Center for Youth Employment will open soon in Moscow and help young people with employment. This has been declared by Roman Shkut, director of the new institution. According to his words, the Center's staff will advise young specialists on preparing a resume, offer internships, and inform them about the most demanded professions in the market.
By the end of the year, the Moscow government is going to hold at least three round table discussions on trends in the labor market. FinExpertiza's representatives have been invited to these discussions.
